Homeless in Brighton

It seem that the Ocean Parkway east mall between Oceanview Avenue and Seabreeze Avenue has become the destination for a growinghomeless population. Maybe it is because of the  bottle redemption machines at the Met Supermarket on the corner of Brighton Beach Avenue.  But as the weather got warmer the number of homeless that sleep on the benches overnight greatly increased. Discarded clothing, cartons, bottles, and plastic bags of all sizes litter the walkway and the benches.  It comes as no surprise that these blocks that are the gateway to the beach and boardwalk are now the dirtiest stretch on Ocean Parkway.
